Fabiana Murer beats Olympic champion and silver is in Birmingham

São Paulo – The world champion pole vaulter Fabiana Murer, won the silver medal on Sunday (30/6), the stage of Birmingham (ING) of the Diamond League. The jumper Club BM & FBOVESPA reached 4.63 m, the test won by Cuban Yarislei Silva, with 4.73 m. Jennifer Suhr, Olympic champion in Londres/2012, was only the bronze medal with 4.53 m.

“I’m getting more confident in competition,” said Fabiana. “Birmingham was part of the preparation for the World Cup and I was second. So I’m very happy,” concluded the athlete. “The Fabian made good attempts at 4.73 m, but failed to pass. Anyway, is holding regular, with jumps above 4.60 m,” said coach Elson Miranda also the Athletics Club BM & FBOVESPA.

In preparation for the World Cup in Moscow, 10-18 August Fabiana went to Europe after the Brazil Trophy in June – in Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, jumped 4.73 m, his best mark of the season. Then played step Oslo (NOR) of the Diamond League, a GP in Gothenburg (SWE) and a street race in Hof (ALE).

Now, Fabiana returns to Formia, Italy, base of Brazilian athletes pole vault in Europe. Back to compete in Jockgrim (ALE), on 23/7, and the London leg of the Diamond League, 26-28 / 7. Then just jump back to the World.
