Fauquier County produced one state title winner and 11 other individual placements in Saturday’s Group AA track and field meet at Harrisonburg High School.
The top local finisher, Fauquier senior Grant Holmes, won the state title in boys pole vault.
He finished with a final height of 14 feet, 9 inches. Holmes won first place by three inches over Fluvanna County senior Chance Parmly.
Falcons teammate Ryan Enos placed fifth in the event. The junior finished with a vault of 13 feet, 6 inches.
Fauquier’s Briana Hill placed in the most events of any county athlete. She finished in the top eight in four events.
Hill took fourth in the girls long jump with a distance of 17 feet, 3 3/4 inches.
