Carter Petersen entered the Utica Challenge with modest goals regarding his premier event in the pole vault. The Fonda junior came away surprised with the results he achieved as he broke his personal record with a winning height of 15 feet, 2 inches.

“I honestly was just trying to get used to the season again and get some decent heights in,” Petersen said. “Now, I am trying to get on my bigger poles and bigger heights.”
