Foster pole vault title highlights strong weekend for area college athletes

With a brand new personal best that would rank her 12th in the NCAA, senior Kyley Foster’s win in the pole vault highlighted the final day of the Summit League Championship at South Dakota State. The Fighting Hawks finished in fifth place on both the men’s and women’s side.

Foster won the event by 5.75 inches, almost two-tenths of a meter, as she cleared 14-2.75 (4.34m). The mark extends her school record by over a foot and a half from second place. She had never cleared over 14 feet in an indoor meet. She is North Dakota’s first-ever Summit League Champion in track and field.
