If anybody wants to challenge Mahar Regional pole vault records in the future they will have to deal with a pretty high standard set by the Moore family.

Freshman Sienna Moore recently set the outdoor record, clearing 9 feet 10 inches for the Senators.

“We say that it’s in the blood,” Moore said. “Because Dad is so good at it. But I love the event.”

There was jubilation after Moore hit the mat.  The first person to greet her during the celebration was her father, Dan Moore, who holds the Mahar Regional record (12-6) set back in 1992.

“We were all excited,” Moore said. “I just jumped off the mat to go hug my dad. He jumped in the air when I cleared it.”

Dan Moore is the pole-vault coach for the Senators. The coaching began at home using homemade equipment.
