A school record five members of Georgia’s track and field teams have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District men’s and women’s teams.
Senior Maria Augutis, sophomore Morgann Leleux, senior Lucie Ondraschkova and sophomore Carly Hamilton made up four of the 11 women on the District 4 squad. Junior Brandon Lord was the Bulldog recipient from the men’s team.
Before this year, Georgia’s track and field teams had combined for a program high of three members on the CoSIDA Academic All-District squads in 2009 and 2010.
Leleux, a native of New Iberia, La., is a Journalism major who boasts a 3.41 GPA. She is coming off a performance where she tied for the win at the 2013 NCAA East Prelims on a single-attempt pole vault clearance at 13-5.25. The two-time SEC outdoor pole vault champion (2012, 2013) was the runner-up at both the NCAA Indoor Championships and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2012.
Leleux is the school record holder in the outdoor pole vault after clearing 14-6.75 at the 2012 SEC meet. She is also No. 2 on Georgia’s all-time indoor list after reaching 14-9 in 2013. Leleux is a member of the Dean’s List and SEC Academic Honor Roll.
