Ginley sets regional pole vault record

East Henderson senior Corey Ginley established a 3-A Western Regional meet record in winning the boys pole vault Saturday at Reynolds.

Ginley’s winning height of 15 feet, 4 inches is the second-best in Western North Carolina track history.

Brevard’s Adam Callis also cleared 15-4 in 2004, while the No. 1 performance came from Robbinsville’s Landon Hunt (15-6) in 2010.

Ginley has signed with Western Carolina University.
