BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Gov. Livingston has taken over pole vaulting in the state. When you’re ranked #1 in the state, where do you go next? You take it to the next level — and that is exactly what seniors Leah Saifi and Brian Rubenstein have done.
Both ranked #1 in New Jersey, the pair of Highlander pole vaulters have the opportunity they’ve been aiming for. Leah Saifi has signed to go to Boston, MA to compete for Northeastern University and Brian Rubenstein will be going to Lewisburg, PA to vault for Bucknell University.
Saifi set the 2016 New Jersey record, clearing 12-8 at the East Coast Relays in May, which also is the #2 all-time state high in girls pole vault. The state record is held by Danielle O’Reilly of Shawnee who cleared 13-3 back in 2004 at the Olympic Conference Championships.
