LEXINGTON – Grayson County sophomore Ethan Pierce is used to flying above the pack when vaults.
The competition and rainy weather at the Class 3-A KHSAA State Track & Field Championships forced him to adapt, and he had no problem getting it done Saturday at the University of Kentucky.
Pierce reached 13 feet on his final attempt, tied for the second-best height, and finished fourth.
