Greenville’s Sandi Morris won her second consecutive title at the USATF Outdoor Championships, but inclement weather cut short her opportunity to reach the top of the world’s pole vault rankings.

Morris clinched the championship with a vault of 4.80 meters (15 feet, 9 inches) Sunday in Des Moines, Iowa, and having eliminated runner-up and U.S. indoor champion Katie Nageotte (4.70/15-5) and world leader Jenn Suhr (4.60/15-1), Morris asked officials to raise the bar to 4.94 meters.
