Haas takes second in pole vault at Platteville Invite

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Samantha Haas (Waupun, WI/Waupun)’ second-place finish in the pole vault led the UW-Stevens Point women’s track and field team at the Platteville Invitational on Saturday, April 12.


The senior earned runner-up status in the event by clearing 3.65 meters (11′ 11.75″).

Stormy Gerndt (Mountain, WI/Suring) tied for second in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters (5′ 3.25″).

Holly Winberg (Forest Lake, MN/Forest Lake) completed the staplechase in fourth position in 12:14.55.

Aryn DeGrave (Big Bend, WI/Mukwonago) took fourth in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:07.00.

No team scores were tallied in the event.

The Pointers compete at the Phil Esten Challenge, hosted by UW-La Crosse, on Thursday and Friday, April 17-18.
