ST. PAUL — Stillwater landed two of its six entries on the podium at the Class AA girls’ track and field state meet on Saturday, June 9 at Hamline University.
Corrie Hale capped a record-breaking season for her with a third-place finish in the pole vault. She also finished 13th in the long jump, an event she also set the school record in earlier this season.
Hale sailed through her first several vaults. One of just two participants who started at 10-6, Hale did not miss while clearing the opening height, 11-0, 11-6 and 11-9. She missed all three attempts at 12-0, but claimed third even though fourth-place finisher Char Morke of Cambridge-Isanti also cleared 11-9.
