TOPEKA, Kan. – Harding’s men finished first through fifth in the pole vault Friday at the Washburn Open earning 33 of the team’s 36 points. The 11th-ranked Bisons lead the meet after one day with competition set to resume Saturday morning.
In the pole vault, freshman Dorian Chaigneau won the event with a clearance of 4.96 meters (16-03.25). After clinching the victory, Chaigneau attempted to clear the NCAA automatic qualifying standard of 5.23 meters (17-01.75) but did not clear the bar on any of his three attempts. Chaigneau has a season-best and Harding record clearance of 5.13 meters (16-10) and ranks third nationally in Division II.
