McHenry senior Jenna Pauly is well-acquainted with Ashley Conway’s track and field prowess, even though she never has met the former Warriors standout.
Pauly is a dominant, well-rounded athlete, as Conway was. Pauly high jumped 5 feet, 7 inches last spring and sees her name most days on the school record board, tied with Stacy Pierce and just beneath Conway’s 5-9.
Pauly was the 2018 Northwest Herald Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year after taking fourth in the Class 3A high jump (5-6) and seventh in the pole vault (11-0) at the state meet. Conway earned that honor as a sophomore in 2009.
