Holly Bleasdale, the world indoor pole vault bronze medallist and British record-holder, is to part company with her long-term coach, Julien Raffalli.
The Frenchman has guided Bleasdale’s career since spotting her talent four years ago but the 20-year-old Lancashire athlete has opted for a change of direction after finishing sixth at the Olympics.
Her decision could see her link up with American coach Dan Pfaff, who already coaches the British men’s record-holder, Steve Lewis.
Bleasdale said: “We both felt it was the right time for a fresh start. I want to take this opportunity to thank Julien for all his hard work and wish him all the best.
“There is still a lot more I want to achieve in this sport and I am looking forward to continuing that journey with a new coach.”
