Johanna Duplantis carries on pole vaulting tradition at LHSAA State Indoor Meet

BATON ROUGE — The tradition is alive and well.

Lafayette High’s Johanna Duplantis joined the family’s remarkable legacy of state champions Saturday, winning a stirring duel with Heather Abadie of St. Michael in the Division I girls pole vault at the LHSAA State Indoor Meet.

Duplantis won in a jump-off after both vaulters cleared 11-11.75.
