Kansas State track and field assistant coach Kyle Hierholzer is offering a pole vault coaching clinic to any and all entrants on Sunday, November 10 and Friday, January 3, 2014.
Participants will get the opportunity to view a practice led by Hierholzer, while also partaking in classroom sessions.
The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at 8:45 a.m. in the Purple Pride Room, located on the third floor of the K-State Alumni Center. Cost of the clinic is $100 per individual per day or $150 to attend both days.
The clinic will provide a look at the K-State pole vault model and discuss training principles and periodization as they relate to athletes at all levels.
Coaches will be given insight on how to create effective training regimens for their athletes and how those plans may change from year to year or person to person.
Classroom sessions will focus on pole vault technique and training while practice viewing sessions will give participants the opportunity to view a K-State track and field training session including current K-State student-athletes. Each practice viewing will close with a Q&A session with Hierholzer and the student-athletes.
