Kiley Kennedy ’16 (photo) cleared 10 feet during the Wesleyan Invitational III Sat., Feb. 1, breaking her own school record set three weeks earlier at Yale when she vaulted 9-10. Kennedy was one of 10 individual winners for the Cardinals during the last home meet of the season as the Cardinals took home top prizes in each of the nine running events Wesleyan had entries. Eight difference Cardinals produced a win – Idara Foster ’15 in the 60m dash, Ellie Martin ’16 in the 200m, Aidan Bardos ’17 in the 400m, Kimora Brock ’15 in the 600m, Sydney Cogswell ’16 in the 800m, Christina Hebner ’17 in the mile, Libby Lazare ’14 in the 3000m, and Geneva Jonathan ’15 in the 60m hurdles. In addition, the combination of Bardos, Melissa Luning ’15, Cogswell and Brock came through with a victory in the 4x400m relay, beating the oppositon by more than eight seconds.
Up next for the team is a trip to the Boston area where some of the Cardinals will compete at MIT in its invitational Sat., Feb. 8 while others will head over to Boston University to compete on its banked track Fri., Feb. 7 during the Terrier’s Valentine’s Invitational.
