TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Senior Rebecca Preisler (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville), fresh off a pole vault national championship at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships, continued her success on Saturday (March 21) at the John Mitchell Alabama Relays for the Lewis women’s track and field team.
Preisler won the pole vault against a field of primarily NCAA Division I competition. She recorded an NCAA automatic qualifier vault of 4.05 meters.
Junior Chantel Stennis (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) took sixth in the 400 meters, stopping the clock in an NCAA provisional time of 54.68.
“The women had another great day,” Lewis head coach Dana Schwarting said. “Rebecca hit an NCAA auto mark with the win. She is really jumping well and wants to defend her title. Chantel opened with an NCAA provo in the 400. The whole women’s team had a solid start.”
Lewis returns to action on April 3-4 at the Bellarmine Invitational.
