LHSAA has not issued ruling on Duplantis

Lafayette High senior Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, the best pole vaulter in American high school history, won his final home meet at LHS in last week’s Oil City Relays with an 18-6 clearance.

How much longer he remains a prep vaulter will be decided soon.

The Beaver Club Relays, the Lafayette Parish championship, will be held Friday at UL’s Cajun Track. The Texas Relays is the following week, and Duplantis could compete in the elite division in addition to high school.
