North Dakota State junior Andy Lillejord was named The Summit League’s Indoor Track and Field Men’s Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Bison Classic on Jan. 11-12.
Lillejord (Jamestown, N.D.) collects his first career Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor after winning the heptathlon at the Bison Classic. He recorded the top performance in six of the seven heptathlon events to score a league-best 5,424 points, which currently ranks fourth in the nation.
Lillejord also leads The Summit League in the pole vault at 16-00.75 (4.90m) and ranks second in the long jump with a mark of 22-11.25 (6.99m). He is the defending Summit League champion in the heptathlon.
The North Dakota State men’s track and field team will compete at the Jack Johnson Classic in Minneapolis, Minn., on Jan. 18-19.
