Lindstrom wins pole vault to lead Grinnell men’s team at Central Open

PELLA, Iowa – Jake Lindstrom ’14 won the pole vault to lead the way for the Grinnell College men’s track and field team Wednesday at the Central College Open.
Lindstrom leaped 13-3 ½ to outdo all in the eight-competitor field. Luis Hernandez ’15 added a sixth-place finish with a jump of 10-10.
Colton Silvia ’17 was fourth in the triple jump with a performance of 38-8 ¾, while the 4×400-meter relay team ofJonathan Braun ’17, Ed Hardman ’16, Silvia and John Gallagher ’17 placed fifth in 3:32.84.
Gallagher was fifth in the 400 hurdles in 1:02.84, while Hardman took sixth in the 100 in 11.21.
Terrel Jones ’17 placed ninth in the shot put with a throw of 34-2 and Greg Margida ’16 was 10th in the 3000 in 10:59.64.
There were no team scores.
