Alysha Newman has added another international medal to her growing collection.
The reigning Commonwealth Games champ captured pole vault bronze at the Pan Am Games Thursday in Lima, Peru.
The 25-year-old Mother Teresa grad cleared 4.55 metres on her first attempt but was stopped when the bar was raised to 4.65. Her personal outdoor best is 4.77m achieved earlier this year in Germany.
Newman started the competition by clearing 4.35 and grabbed third spot on countback.
Cuba’s Yarisley Silva Rodriguez, the 2015 champ in Toronto, finished first at 4.75 and Kathryn Nageotte of the United States was second at 4.70.
