Marist’s Liam Henshaw wins two events Saturday, sets new pole vault mark: 5A boys state track championships

EUGENE — Senior Liam Henshaw of Marist set the state meet record Saturday for 5A boys in pole vault at the OSAA track and field championships, clearing 15 feet, 8 inches to beat the mark of 15-6 he set last year. Henshaw then set the bar at 16 feet, but he failed on all three attempts at that height.

Henshaw also won the 110-meter hurdles, giving him three individual championships for the meet. He captured the long jump title on Friday. Henshaw also competed Saturday in triple jump, but finished fifth.
