In the men’s long jump, the German Paralymic world record holder Markus Rehm won the prestigious battle with ex-indoor world champion Ignisious Gaisah (NED) with an outstanding 8.15m. Second was South African top jumper Zarck Visser with 7.94m in front of Gaisah who jumped 7.80m. Maryna Bekh (UKR) grabbed the women’s long jump went with 6.56m ahead of Quanesha Burks (USA) 6.51 m and Jazmin Sawyers (GBR) with 6.33 m.
The women pole vaulters had an extremely exciting contest for the coveted Golden Roof Shingle. Three jumpers marked 4.25m – the victory went to Maryna Kylypko (UKR)ahead of Amalie Svabikova (CZE) and Katie Nageotte (USA). In the men’s event, former indoor world champion Konstantinos Filippidis (GRE) successfully jumped 5.55m before failing when he attempted the meet record of 5.70. Second place went to Stanley Joseph (FRA) with 5.40 m in front of Diogo Ferreia (POR) 5.20 m.
