Marshall Takes Top Spot for Fifth Straight Week

Senior Mandissa Marshall continued her impressive season with her fifth straight pole vault title with a Mason record height of 4.30m Saturday at the Armory Invitational in New York. In addition to placing her atop Mason’s all-time pole vaulting list, the height places Marshall at 10th in the NCAA. The Patriots saw further success in field events from freshman Nhautrey Brown who took the title in the collegiate triple jump with a distance of 12.33, putting her at ninth on Mason’s all-time list. On the track, Walter Mitchell was the lone Patriot to take an event title with a win in the collegiate 200m dash with a time of 21.76. Daianna Barron took sixth in the overall 400m championship with a time of 54.60 and Adrian Vaughn took the sixth in the overall 200m championship with a time of 21.57. The women’s 4×4 team made of Caela Williams, Dianna Barron, Kiya Day and Dominique Graham came second in the collegiate relay with a time of 3:42.26. The male 4×4 relay team made up of Angel Coburn, Adrian Vaughn, Jordan May and Taylor Skyes finished fifth with a time of 3:12.83. In Boston, Michael Conway finished the 3K in 8:21, setting a new personal record. Craig Morgan completed the 800m in 1:52.77. Next up, the Patriots prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 22-23.
