Rutgers expected to join Conference as well
COLLEGE PARK, Md. —Maryland will join the Big Ten Conference on July 1, 2014.Maryland, announcing Monday afternoon its decision to leave the Atlantic Coast Conference, becomes the 13th member of the Big Ten.”Today is a watershed moment for the University of Maryland,” said university president Wallace Loh. “Membership in the Big Ten Conference is in the strategic interest of the University of Maryland.
