Midland High alum Bryce Albrecht wrapped up an excellent season in the pole vault for Davenport University’s men’s track and field team recently, winning a GLIAC championship in the event and finishing 12th at the NCAA Division II Championships in Emporia, Kansas.

Albrecht, a senior with an additional year of eligibility, vaulted 16-feet, 10-inches at the GLIAC Championships to top a field which included three Grand Valley State athletes who are ranked in the top 15 in the nation. It marked Albrecht’s second GLIAC title of his career, having won the heptathlon a year ago.
