Emerald Gyuricza of Big Sky High School in Missoula, Mont., has signed with the Jamestown College track and field team.
Jimmie pole vaulting coach Andrew Gideon saw Gyuricza compete in the Montana State meet where she placed fourth by clearing 10-feet, 9-inches. She also participated in soccer, cross country and speech. She was coached in high school by former Jimmie David Morrison.
“Emerald is certainly an accomplished vaulter and comes highly recommended as a person,” JC women’s track and field coach Jim Clark said. “Emerald decided late and her first visit to Jamestown will be this weekend, so I am looking forward to meeting her.
“I think she will be an amazing addition to Jamestown College and to the Jimmie track and field team.”
She is the daughter of Brent and Andrea Gyuricza. She plans to study nursing at JC.
