It’s onward and upward for Julia Fixsen.
Mounds View’s two-time state champion pole vaulter has now conquered national competition and is headed for a world meet.
After snagging her second state gold with a state record 13 feet, 9 1/4 inches to cap her junior year on June 9, Fixsen placed second with 13-11 1/4 (or 4.30 meters, as it’s listed there) at the USA Track and Field Junior Championships in Bloomington, IN, on June 17.
