SINGAPORE: National pole vaulter Sean Lim has been selected to represent Singapore at the Myanmar SEA Games in December.
The 20-year-old National Serviceman was given the nod on Wednesday after he broke the national pole vault record on Sunday, when he cleared 4.83 metres.
The Singapore Athletic Association (SAA) and Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) said Lim will replace Edwin Chong who has withdrawn due to his plans to further his studies overseas.
Lim will take part in the pole vault event alongside previous record holder Chan Sheng Yao.
SAA also announced two other withdrawals from the Games on Wednesday — thrower Scott Wong due to school work, and marathon runner Anne Qi Hui due to work commitments.
