BOSTON – Navy pole vaulters Charlene Kearns (Rochester, N.Y.) and Rosemary Brinegar (Coppell, Texas) tallied All-East performances to help the Navy women’s track and field team place tied-for 28th at the ECAC Championship in Boston, Massachusetts.
Kearns and Brinegar finished in the top five of the pole vault to record their first career All-East honor. Kearns placed fourth in the event with a personal-best indoor mark of 12ft-5.5in (3.80m). Teammate Brinegar finished fifth, crossing over the bar at 12ft-1.5in (3.70m). Both finishes were personal bests at the indoor ECAC Championship.
“We are proud to see these two perform as well as they did at the league championship and carry it over in the ECAC Championship,” Navy head coach Carla Criste said. “We will now look to take this type of momentum into our outdoor season.”
