North Andover boys track and field team finishes second overall at All-States

This has been a season of raising expectations meet by meet, and then bypassing those by miles.

It’s a pretty good season indeed to be a North Andover High School boys track and field athlete. The most recent item in the ever-changing history book is a second place finish overall at the All-State championships on June 3 in Bridgewater.

“I could not be prouder of these guys. Unfortunately, only a handful of our guys qualified for this meet, but they really had a great night and helped to create some history for our program,” said Scarlet Knights head coach Steve Nugent. “In my coaching career, we have never been in the hunt for this meet. This was a pretty historic night for our program.”

Of course, it helps when you have a record-breaking athlete on your side. Not just school record-breaking … or even meet record-breaking.
