November is here and by now you should be back to your five or six step training and learning all the necessary skills to be a proficient vaulter. With that comes some cool meets that have to do with traditions such as Thanksgiving and Christmas next month. At the Vaulter Facility we always have a thankful meet and at that meet we make sure and take the time to have the athletes write a note to the parents expressing their thankfulness. When the parents walk in, they get the handwritten note from their athlete. Always a great way to start off the day and a thankful meet.

On the cover we have a club out of Illinois named Rise Pole Vault. “Tim Winder taught his sons the three big rules about the pole vault:

1) If you run through, you get worse.

2) If you take a jump up but do not finish it, you stay the same.

3) If you finish your jump, no matter how ugly, you get a little bit better. “

What a great teaching experience and article to read from a set of club coaches with years of experience.

It is impressive to read these articles that Daniel Bush submits to us each month. This one is a Halloween themed article that flows with the last couple articles over the last few months. “Annie stole the show once again, her braided blonde pig tails bouncing behind her as she bounded down the runway. After nailing another big jump, the roaring applause of the crowd drew a satisfying smile from this emerging elite athlete.” Better and better each month as this true professional shows us how the writing world manages business and a pole vault family all in one.

We all have so much to be thankful for and Abby explains some of and one of the nicest gestures that one of her athletes handed her this time of the year. “It can make us forget just how blessed we are to be able to compete in this amazing sport called pole vaulting! When you stop and think about it for a minute you realize that you can do something that many people never will get to.” Being thankful is peaceful for the mind and soul. Thank you, Abby, very cool.

Next month we have the Naval Academy on the cover, and they always represent in a spectacular way. We will see you next month with some Christmas cheer.

June and Vaulter Magazine is trying to bring the 80’s type of California atmosphere back to the state. You remember back in the days when California was at the top of its game for just about everything that had to do with sports and all things business and education-related. With all of that said, we are seeing some of the best of the best when it comes to pole vault at our elite training facility. Not to mention, on the cover of Vaulter Magazine. May has flown by and the seniors are graduating from high school, college vaulters are heading to the NCAA’s in Eugene, Oregon, and professional athletes are headed to the Olympic trials. Before you know it July will be here and summer will be in full motion.

Paige Sommers is on the cover of Vaulter Magazine this month for June. Paige broke the national high school record at the Vaulter Magazine Elite Training Facility in a grand manner. Weeks later she turns around and breaks it again at her league meet at her high school. “With her high school season coming to an end, Sommers is looking forward to the competitions offered outside of high school sports. She is planning to compete at the Vaulter Magazine California State Championships on June 19th.” Paige is a vaulter to be reconned with and it would not surprise us if she didn’t break the record again. Good job Sara!

“Founded by Collin Gayde and Joe Herron, Pole Vault Elite (based in Fortville, Ind.) has become central Indiana’s premier pole vault club, but not without a few obstacles along the way.” Bubba Sparks is in the mix again with Pole Vault Elite and what they have started in Indiana. Like the rest of us serious club owners, this club has put in the time, effort, money, and energy to bring bigger and better to the sport. With a new facility and a determined team, these guys are doing what it takes to take care of the kids.Good job Bubba!

July is next and we should have an Olympic Trials cover, but you never know as the country of Japan is currently being ravished by a second strain of Covid-19. This strain has taken its toll on the communities around the country of Japan and many citizens are protesting the event. This month the U.S. State Department issue a no travel ban for Japan just two months out from the Olympics. Time will tell and I’m sure there will be an Olympics, too much money is meant to be made to stop it, no matter what the circumstances. So hang tight and we will have it all covered for you from start to finish.
