The 25-year-old pole vaulter continued to display his readiness for the TokyoOlympics, seizing the gold medal at the Taby Stab Gala Street Pole Vault tournament in Stockholm, Sweden early on Saturday (Manila time).
Obiena cleared 5.80 meter in his first attempt to claim the championship. Then, the 6’2″ pole vaulter from Tondo tried to break the 5.87-m Philippine record he set on June 30, but he failed to do so.
