ATHENS, June 14 (Xinhua) — Greek Olympic pole vault champion Katerina Stefanidi was among the big winners here at the 19th International Filothei Women’s Athletics Gala on Wednesday.
Stefanidi won with a jump of 4.60 meters with Silva Yarisley from Cuba coming in second (4.50m).
With the exclusive participation of female athletes, the annual track and field meeting is held in the Filothei district of Athens and is organized by the local sports club in association with the Greek Athletics Association (SEGAS). The event attracts Greek champions, but also several top international stars.
