Pole vaulter Jenn Suhr and long jumper Brittney Reese, who both soared to claim gold medals at the London 2012 Olympics Games, have confirmed they will compete in the 106th Millrose Games at The Armory in New York on 16 February.”It is very exciting that we can showcase the London gold medal winners right here at The Armory during the Millrose Games,” said Dr. Norb Sander, executive director of The Armory Foundation.
Suhr, who resides in the upstate New York village of Churchville and attended nearby Fredonia High School, went over 4.75m to top all the Olympic challengers in London.Last February, during the 105th Millrose Games, she cleared 4.58m to win the Fred Schmertz Women’s Pole Vault.”Winning Olympic gold was a dream come true for me and now I’m very much looking forward to 2013,” said Suhr. “A world-class Millrose Games competition at The Armory gives me a chance to jump right here in my home state.”
