Girls’ Indoor Track
Hand finished seventh out of 23 teams with 34 points at the Class L State Championship on Feb. 13 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. Caroline O’Neil took home a state title in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.19 seconds and she also captured the championship in the 300 at 39.98.
Additionally scoring for the Tigers were Gabby Harmon (4th, 42.88 in the 300); Megan Phillips (5th, 3:15.83 in the 1,000); and the 4×200 relay of Harmon, Bridget Phillips, Kelley Levis, and O’Neil (2nd, 1:49.54).
Boys’ Indoor Track
The Tigers were eighth out of 25 schools with 20 points for the Class L State Championship on Feb. 13 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven. Devon McShane took first place in the pole vault by clearing 13 feet.
Also scoring for Hand, Max Veth was runner-up in the 600 (1:25.87), just off the winning pace of 1:25.74 set by North Haven’s Omar Gebril; and Colin Roth finished fifth for the 1,600 (4:36.76).
