A 10 month journey for Westlake High School Senior (CA) Paige Sommers comes to fruition as she breaks the national high school outdoor record previously held by Leah Pasquelleti (NY). Sommers jumps an amazing 14’8.50″ or 4.48m to break the all time outdoor record at the Vaulter Magazine National Frosh / Soph Championship Girls Open Invitational.

Paige Sommers is no stranger to the game as she became the California State record holder last year and has jumped over 14′ three separate time already this year.

Paige has plenty of time as she sets her sights for post season meets and eventually state with only a half of an inch to beat the indoor national record of 14’9″.

Time will tell, but we may be watching the first ever 15′ high school girl athlete in the making. Stay tuned!
