Consider for a second: Liam Landau is a standout pole vaulter simply because of what he lacked three years ago.
“When I started doing pole vault my freshman year, I did not expect to be at this point right now,” the junior on the Pascack Hills boys track and field team.
“It’s really surprising for me. I almost didn’t even do track. I almost did lacrosse instead. I didn’t really have a spring sport. I wanted to try something out. I would have done lacrosse, but I didn’t have any of the equipment.”
