It was roughly one year ago when Notre Dame High’s Haley Horvath made history at the outdoor Meet of Champions.
Thursday, she made more.
Now a freshman at Towson University, Horvath claimed the college women’s pole vault championship title with a mark of 13-1 1/2, more than six inches higher than the rest of the field as Delaware’s Ashley Bailey and Princeton’s Hanne Borstlap’s final clear came at 12-7 1/2.
Horvath remained perfect on the year at major meets, winning all five competitions she has entered for Towson. One year ago, competing at this same venue as a high school senior, Horvath placed sixth at 11-11 3/4.
