The Perry pole vaulter edged teammate Jagger Foxx for the Division I district championship on Wednesday at North Canton Memorial Stadium. Stokey and Foxx both cleared 14 feet, 6 inches, but Stokey won the title on a tiebreaker.
Stokey and Foxx are among the top contenders to reach the state meet this season. So is Green’s Connor McClure, who broke the all-time state record earlier this year with a jump of 17-3. McClure finished third at 13-6.
