Western Australian rising athletic star Nina Kennedy has stolen the limelight at the Jandakot City Track Classic breaking the junior pole vault record on Saturday night.

The 17-year-old, coached by pole vault guru Alex Parnov, leapt 4.59m to claim the junior outdoor record.

She beat the previous record of 4.58m held by Sweden’s Angelica Bengtsson.
