AUSTIN – Julia Fixsen of Virginia Tech won the women’s pole vault title at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday, clearing 4.45m/14-7.25. Fixsen, a sophomore, set a personal best with her winning jump.
This spring, Phillips set a new Ashley Ridge record in the Boys Pole Vault with a 16-04.75 vault that lifted him to a ranking of fifth in the nation among boys’ high school vaulters. In May, he won the South Carolina Class AAAAA 2023 Boys Pole Vault Championship with a 16-00.00 vault.
