In the world of pole vaulting, Stacy Dragila is legendary. Stacy won the first gold medal in women’s pole vaulting at the 2000 Summer Olympics and was also two-time world champion in 1999 and 2001. After retiring from competition, Stacy founded the Altius Track Club in San Diego where she has been coaching athletes in the pole vault.
As a long-time fan of Stacy’s, I was thrilled when she recently notified SacCitySports of her upcoming pole vaulting camp in Sacramento. This camp will run from June 30 through July 4 at the Sacramento State campus ($550) and will include both a commuter and overnight camper option.
Daily schedules will include vault sessions, gymnastics and video analysis with some of the top pole vaulting coaches in the nation, including Stacy herself. At the end of the camp, all campers will participate in a mock meet.
