NORMAL — A Normal-based pole vault club that has dominated high school and junior high state competition for years is expanding into other events.
The Flying Dragons Pole Vault Club recently moved into the Flying Dragons Field Event Training Center at 2551 W. College Ave. in Normal, which can accommodate high jumpers, long jumpers, triple jumpers and throwers along with sprinters and hurdlers.
The center, nicknamed “The Den,” is the fifth home for the club, which has never had more space than its current 28,000 square feet.
