After transferring from Glen Este last year, pole vaulter Trey Adkison had to sit out the 2012 season.
Now eligible to compete, Adkison isn’t wasting any time leaving his mark.
He won the pole vault with a height of 12 feet during the Division II-III Coaches’ Classic at Lockland High School April 6.
He broke the school pole vault record with a leap of 13-6 at the New Richmond Invitational April 4. He broke that record when he cleared 14 feet at the New Richmond Relays April 9.
According to coach Julie Dietrich, Adkison committed to Harding University in Searcy, Ark. during the week of April 8.
The season is still younbg, which means Adkison could raise the bar even higher.
“With the terrible weather we’ve had, he has yet to reach is PR this season so I hope to see another school record or two before the end of May,” Dietrich said by email.
