GENOA – Chloe Gallagher already has the Genoa-Kingston school record – and repeatedly has broken her own mark – in the pole vault as the girls track and field season heads into the postseason.
Now, Gallagher has her eyes on a state-qualifying mark.
The G-K junior didn’t hit that 11-foot mark Saturday at the Genoa-Kingston Invitational, but she did tie her own school record at 10 feet, 6 inches to win the meet and improve by 6 inches from her mark earlier in the week at the Big Northern Conference Meet.
“For me personally, I just want to get it because it will be a [personal record] for me,” Gallagher said. “I haven’t [broken a personal record] yet, so I think it will show a lot of personal growth and how I’m sill growing as a pole vaulter.”
