Prep vaulters soar in their first meet in Virginia

LYNCHBURG, Virginia — Senior pole vaulters Coy Seneff and Savannah Bowne turned in stellar performaces for Franklin County’s indoor track and field team in its 2012-13 season opener Saturday in the Wally Gilbert Invitational at Heritage High School.

Seneff, the reigning Northwest Region champion and a Group AAA state indoor and outdoor qualifier in the pole vault, cleared 14 feet, 3 inches to capture first-place laurels.
Seneff’s vault broke the Heritage High School facility record and qualified him for this year’s state meet.

Bowne, a Group AAA state indoor and outdoor qualifier in the pole vault last year, cleared 9 feet, 6 inches, a personal-best height. She finished second in the event.FCHS returns to action Saturday in the Liberty Invitational at Liberty University in Lynchburg
