The Racers track and field team competed Sunday at the Edward Temple Classic in Nashville, Tenn.
Chleo LeGrand and Emily Heil competed in pole vault at the meet. Heil set a personal record as she placed fifth with a vault of 3.04m (9’11.75″). LeGrand jumped a season best as she placed third with a vault of 3.34m (10’11.5″).
Assistant coach Rochelle Black was pleased with LeGrand and Heil’s performances. “Chleo clearing 10’11.5″ this early is good,” said Black. “She knows where she needs to improve technically.”
“Emily did very well in her second collegiate meet,” said Black.” While what she cleared normally scores at OVC she should improve a lot before that time.”
The Racers are back in action Friday as they travel to Vanderbilt to compete in the Commodore Invite.
